Jury Duty | Christian Monnier
One of our returning jury members for 2019, Christian Monnier won the Golden Cup award for his film Jenna at PRINDIE's 2017 festival.
Initially a photographer, Christian Monnier eventually moved towards narrative film. He directed about ten short films in France, Spain, the United States and Canada, as well as his first full-length film Le Chien, notably selected in official competition at the 29th Moscow International Film Festival, the Festival des Films du Monde de Montréal and Hof International Film Festival 2007.
What attracted you to PRINDIE: the Princeton Independent Film Festival?
The quality and diversity of the selected films. And the kindness of the organizers.
What is your favorite movie/what is your favorite type of movie? (action, drama, etc.)
Too complicated to choose just one film. Generally my choice often turns to independent films, drama or comedy, with characters who have something profound to tell us. For me, the most important thing is the characters.
Apart from cinema, what are your passions?
Apart from cinema, music for sure.
Is there anything you would like to share about yourself with the people of PRINDIE?
I was very proud to receive the Golden Cup Award for my film JENNA at PRINDIE is 2017. Very sincerely.
