2020 Jury Member Announcement: Charlotte Szilagyi

Every week leading up to the official selection announcement and virtual festival presentation, we will be introducing 2020 jury members and films to be viewed for FREE by the artists we love and support in our new PRINDIE Curated Collection!

Without further ado, PRINDIE is honored to announce the 2020 jury member participation of Harvard instructor and scholar, Dr. Charlotte Szilagyi!

Charlotte Szilagyi

Charlotte is an instructor at Harvard Extension School where she teaches courses on "The Phantom of Freedom in Recent American Cinema", "American Superhero Cinema", and an upcoming course on "American Science Fiction Cinema and Television".

She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and a secondary degree in Film and Visual Studies from Harvard University. Her research and teaching focus is on modern American and German film, literature, and mass culture, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary and comparative approaches.

She is the recipient of a Fulbright Award and has studied American, German, and comparative film and literature, in Budapest, Hermannstadt, Erfurt, Bamberg, at NYU and Columbia University. She has published scholarship on films by Fritz Lang and has coedited a volume on Imagining Blackness in Germany and Austria, with contributions from scholars and faculty from UC Berkeley, U Vienna, Tübingen, and Harvard.
